There is something magical about stumbling upon a pile of sleeping kittens. One moment you're walking along, mind wandering, and the next you're noticing a tiny heap of fur tucked into the most unexpected place. A cuddle puddle of kittens, all curled together in the dirt. Their breaths rising and falling slowly in place. At first it's hard to believe what you're seeing. Their little bodies are piled together in a sleepy knot. Their paws are absolute loafing positions, tucked under their chins, tails draped around their body. Some are stretched out completely, while other have buried their faces inot the warm fur of a brother or sister. The dirt they're sleeping on doesn't even care there's a pile of kittens on him.

One kitten might twitch in a dream, little paws paddling the air as if they're chasing something. Have you ever seen your cat clearly in a dream? Last night I was watching Brother Bear with my cat and after it ended, my cat just slithered away into kitty wondering dreamland. I could tell because he was breathing differently, his paws kept stretching out and doing little grabs at the air, the way humans grab the air when they're asleep. It was really the cutest thing in the world, but the worst part is that I had to get up and go to bed. Yes, I have to move even though we were deep in a cuddle. I had to move to get to bed, but luckily he didn't even stir. He just kept on sleeping there!
